An open source AR platform for artists
In response to my frustration with a lack of accessible and user/student friendly augmented reality platforms in 2018 I started building my own free AR platform called CabinAR. It’s is built on A-Frame, an open-source web-based VR library and allows students and creative professional to quickly make and share augmented reality experiences in the browser at no cost. The platform has apps in both the iOS and Android app stores that let designers showcase their interactive augmented reality installations. CabinAR has been used in workshops at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Typographics Conference , Cooper Union, and the Interaction Design Summit in Milan.
